Mr. Loren Kyle Austin
Mr. Loren Kyle Austin, 89, of 1023 Circle Drive, Detour, died Wednesday, June 5, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after an illness of 10 years. He was the husband of Marian Miller Austin. Born Sept. 3, 1895 in Vinton, Iowa, Mr. Austin was a son of the late John K. and Julia Frush Austin. Mr. Austin was a member of Keysville Lutheran Church. He was employed by Western Maryland Railroad for 43 years, retiring in 1961. Besides his wife, Mr. Austin is survived by two daughters, Faye Maltagliati, St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Thelma Baltzell, Union Bridge; and three adopted grandchildren, Kyle, Jeffrey and Michael Bostian. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Union Bridge Funeral Home of D. D. Hartzler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at the funeral home. The Rev. James M. Russell, Mr. Austin’s pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Keysville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Mr. Austin’s name be made to the charity of one’s choice.
