Mr. Robert Wayne Peyton, 72, of Nebo, KY passed away at 1:35 A.M., Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare in Madisonville.
He was born on October 23, 1936 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Malcolm Wayne Peyton and Lillian Mae Cates Peyton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, of 51 years, Mary Belle Bearden Peyton on January 21, 2007 and one brother, Gary Wesley Peyton.
Mr. Peyton served in the United States Air Force and was a retired Truck Driver. He was a 50 year member of C.S. Hoffman Masonic Lodge #252 of Nebo, a member of West KY Consistory Scottish Rite of Madisonville, Rizpah Shrine Temple of Madisonville, Order of Quetzalcoatl, El Mexapah #112 of Madisonville, Rizpah Tri-Corps, Hillbilly Clan #37 and Fraternal Order of Elks #738 of Madisonville.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Annette Riggs and Jayn Morgan both of Nebo; four grandchildren, Michael Lee Morgan II, Jared Austin Morgan, Melissa Danielle Riggs and Dustin Wayne Peyton Riggs; four great grandchildren, Haley, Alexis, Kaitlyn and Mason Morgan; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Nebo. A Masonic Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11:30 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the C.S. Hoffman Masonic Lodge #252 of Nebo. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
