His given name was Angelo Natale which translated to Charles Christmas. Charlie worked his whole life as a weaver at the Bloomsburg Silk Mill in Lock Haven. He enjoyed his extended Italian family and later in life took up horseback riding. His first horse was a palomino, "Checkers". Later, he bought a leopard Appaloosa, "Cherokee Chief". He and Cherokee participated in the 1976 Bicentennial Wagon Train. They travelled from Lock Haven to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Charlie was 70 years old at the time of this adventure. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy and a Boy Scout Leader.
He was a lifelong resident of Mill Hall and Lock Haven until about 1972 when he moved in with his daughter in Pottsville Pa. He did briefly move back to Lock Haven, but did not remain there and came back to his daughter's home where he worked for a company in Cressona PA as a driver. It was here, on the job, that he passed away in 1982.
