James R. Albert, 83, of Palmyra, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center. He was born and raised in Highspire and was a son of the late Joseph and Florence "Shoop" Albert. Jimmy was the husband of the late Lois M. Albert, who passed away in the year of 2000. He was a lifelong member of Highspire United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Highspire High School class of 1946.

Jim worked in security at Hershey Foods and retired in 1995. He served his country with the US Air Force, stationed in Riverside, CA. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling league, card club, and church family. He also enjoyed baking and watching the Phillies.

Surviving are his two sons, Dennis of Campbelltown, PA and Doug of Gap, PA; two granddaughters, Angela of Middletown and Jessica of Campbelltown.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Highspire United Methodist Church, 170 2nd Street, Highspire. Inurnment will be private in the Highspire Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. until time of service in his church. K.M. Knight Funeral Home, Highspire is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to his church at 170 Second Street, Highspire, PA 17034.
