LEONARD HARDING CHILDERS, 67, OF Winfield, died Nov. 18, 1989, at home after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Winfield and was retired from Union Carbide Technical Center. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church, Winfield, Masonic Lodge and Winfield Lions Club. He was a Republican committeeman. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving: wife, Inez Welch Childers; sons, Keith and Dwight, both of Scott Depot; mother, Inez Childers of Winfield; brothers Denver of Winfield and Leslie F. Jr. of St. Albans; sisters, Naomi Briscoe of Bryans Road, Md., Estelle Peters of St. Albans; five grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Judson Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Underwood officiating. Entombment will be at Cunningham Park Mausoleum with Masonic graveside rites. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley.
