Born Feb. 29, 1880, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Ackman, who resided on a farm three miles north of Neelys Landing. She was first married to George Summers of Grand Tower, Ill., and then moved to Louisiana. After the death of Summers, she was married to Sam Smith, who died 13 years ago.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a brother, John Ackman of Cape Girardeau, and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Craft of Crossroads and Mrs. Dora Bishop of Leemon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 at the New Bethel Church by the pastor, Rev. Glenn Cummings, with interment in the church cemetery.
