Miss GAUMER Dies Today

Blanch Ora GAUMER, 91, died today at 3:05 a.m. at the Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua. She had been a resident there since March 29, 1974. Her home in Fairfield was at 201 W. Kirkwood.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff in charge. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Blanch was the last member of the immediate Gaumer family. Two of her brothers, G.W. (Wes) who died in 1968, and Harvey who died in 1970, operated the Gaumer Brothers Drug Store, a landmark in the business community of Fairfield.

Born Nov. 19, 1884 in Grinnell, Miss GAUMER was the daughter of James and Anna BALES GAUMER. She was reared and educated in Fairfield and had retired after being employed at Dexter Company for 20 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

---------------
Note: buried in Lot 1st.012, she is on the same gravestone as her parents James and Anna, and her sister Viloma. Her gravestone, however, gives a birth year of 1885 which would be more appropriate given her age of 91.
