Service for Arnis Pearl (A.P.)Ackman will be held thursday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Johnny Clements, pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery.

Ackman, 72 years old, of Route 1, Jackson, died Monday, July 27 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1914, at Neelys Landing, son of John and Maude Sides Ackman.
He married the former Laurel Hickman Oct. 20, 1942, at Cape Girardeau. She survives. Also surviving are sons, Tim Ackman of Jackson, Leonard Ackman, Matt Ackman and Steve Ackman, all of Festus; daughter Becky Watson of Pevely; brothers Nelson Ackman, Belleville, Ill., and Tom Ackman of Cape Girardeau; sisters, Mae Ackman of Jackson, Evelyn Gilmore of Jackson and Norma Corse of Jackson; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Ackman had owned and operated motels at Festus and Crystal City.
