Folk Personality. He was 19 years old and served as a Private First Class Radioman in the US Marine Corps Reserve. At 14:10 hours, December 5, 1945, he was on the US Navy Avenger FT-117 plane which was part of the infamous Flight 19 Squadron out of Fort Lauderdale Naval Air Station, Florida. Scheduled for a two hour training mission, Flight 19, was lost with the disappearance of the fourteen men and the thirteen-man crew of the Mariner whom were sent to search for them. No trace of bodies or aircraft were ever found and the legend of the infamous Bermuda Triangle has remained a complete mystery.
