Lynwood Waldon (L.W.) Green, 74, of Streetman, Texas, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at his residence.

Services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at New Hope Baptist Church near Streetman with Dr. Elton McCann officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Elmo Cemetery.

Mr. Green was born March 1, 1936 in Dallas County, Arkansas to parents Arthur Eugene and Mamie Mann Green. He married Doris Pouncey on June 12, 1959 in Pasadena, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. He had been a Freestone County resident since 1981 moving from Deer Park. He was a loyal and faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church. His parents preceded him in death.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Doris of the home; two children, Sheryl Lynn Scott of The Highlands; Raymond Douglas Green and wife Charlotte of Bryan; two brothers, Jim Green and wife Jane of El Dorado, AR; Harry Green of Little Rock, AR; three sisters, Lou Gantz of El Dorado, AR; Norma Jean Evans and husband Clayton of North Little Rock, AR; Janelle Ray and husband Roy of Fordyce, AR; six grandchildren, Brandon Wayne Scott and wife Sarah of League City; Stephanie Nichole Scott of The Highlands; Douglas Green; Jeff Green and wife Heather; Tiffany Green all of Pasadena and Stephanie Smith and husband Norman of Kansas; four great-grandchildren, Deacon Wayne Scott; Haiden Wayne Scott; Ty Douglas Green and Marie Smith.
