Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Manuela Villa DeLaCruz, 85, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.

DeLaCruz died Thursday, May 26, 2011, in Sweetwater. She was born May 13, 1926, in Sweetwater. She married Jose DeLaCruz on Nov. 9, 1946, in Sweetwater.

Manuela lived in Sweetwater all her life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Organization since 1975. She was a homemaker and had worked at Walls Industries as a seamstress.

Survivors include her sons, Jose DeLaCruz, Jr. and wife Cruz of Abilene, Henry DeLaCruz and wife Cecelia of Sweetwater and Jerry DeLaCruz and wife Elva of Sweetwater; daughters, Ofelia Guzman and husband Manuel of Sweetwater and Rita DeLaCruz Hernandez and husband Jessie of Sweetwater; one brother, Juan Villa of Sweetwater; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose DeLaCruz on Sept. 19, 1990; a son, Frank DeLaCruz on May 19, 2006; and five sisters, Rita, Pilar, Juanita, Josephine and Sophia.

Pallbearers will be Josh Guzman, Andy DeLaCruz, Jason Gomez, Roy Valdez, Jody DeLaCruz and Anthony DeLaCruz.
