THE LAMPASAS LEADER
FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, 1904

Mrs. G. W. Mitchell fell dead at her home Tuesday night just as the shades of night were falling. Her husband was hitching the horse to the vehicle, and they were all ready to go on a short visit to her sister, who lived only a mile or so distant, when she fell dead. She was raised in this section, and was about 35 years of age. She leaves a heartbroken husband and a number of children, one of them quite young. Her maiden name was Hughes, being a duaghter of William Hughes, one of the pioneers of this section.
