Livingston Enterprise July 26, 1935

News has been received here of the death of Quillen Ledbetter, 36, at Norris, on Wednesday, July 24, after a brief bout of pneumonia.
He was born and reared in the 2nd district of Overton County, the son of the late W K P Ledbetter of near Windle.
He had been working for some time operating a hammer and blasting on the construction of the Norris Dam.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Copeland Ledbetter, and three children; two brothers, Porter Ledbetter of Overton; Jonah Ledbetter of Jackson County; five sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Webb, Mrs. Willie Bowers of Overton; Mrs. Winnie Neely, Mrs. Alta Neal and Mrs. Pearlie Crawford of Springfield.
His body was brought back to his native county where burial services were conducted on Thursday with burial in the Crawford cemetery.
Quillen died as a result of inhaling limestone dust while running rock drills in the construction of Norris Dam. The family thought he had walking pneumonia, but it was later found all the drillers suffered from silocosis of the lungs
