Karen was born in Tustin, Michigan, on February 4, 1940 the daughter of William and Naomi (Lind-Anderson) Keller. Karen attended Rees School and Tustin High School before entering a nursing program.
She married Norman Harold Treadwell on June 3, 1961.
Karen worked most of her life as an LPN, and as a registered nurse in labor and delivery. She retired after 40 years of dedicated service.
She loved her family and enjoyed playing cards, from Texas Holdem to Cribbage, Pedro, and others. She also enjoyed bowling, croquet, and painting in oils. Many of her art works were given as gifts and are much prized. Karen loved sports and also enjoyed coaching girls softball. She loved to travel.
Karen will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Karen is survived by her husband, Norman; her son, Thad; and her step-children, Sylvia (Randson) Hesterly, Lewis Treadwell; and 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Eva (William) Lorenz, Marlene Nelson, and Noram (Kenneth) Temple and a sister-in-law, Trudie Schumacher, Amelia Russell; brother-in-laws, Ernie and Walt Treadwell; along with many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by both parents; a sister, Leona; and a brother, William; a son, Kade; and a step-son, Norm.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a grave side service at 1 p.m. on June 11, 2011 at Clam Lake Cemetery.
