Mabel was of Sami descent. The Sami are the indigenous people of northern Europe inhabiting Sápmi, which today encompasses parts of northern Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Kola Peninsula of Russia. She married Pehr Albert Pearson (b. 1881 Sweden) and is remembered as a talented homemaker. She was very outgoing and quite devoted to Pehr. She left a huge hole in her family when she died at the age of 41.
