Jeff Smart, 74, of Fairfield, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 in Tyler, Texas.

Mr. Smart was born September 5, 1936 in Fairfield, to parents Jeff Shelby and Daisey Fox Smart.

He was a retired commercial meat packer and in recent years operated a lawnmower repair business from his home. He was a member of Fairfield Christian Center and a long time member of the Sheriffs Association of Texas. He was known for his love of hunting and fishing but mostly his love of dancing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a wife, Wanda L. Foreman Smart; two brothers, D.W. Smart and Chester Ray Smart; two sisters, Neva Smart Ward and Mary Smart Daniel.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Arlene; seven children, Jeff Shelby Smart and wife Nadine; Diana (Sissy) Lynn Smart Willis and husband Robert; Linda Gail Smart; Glenda Dale Smart Lumpkin and husband Steve; Vickie Perry Holloway and husband Wesley; Terry Perry Thomas and husband Larry; James Thomas Perry and wife Angela; sister-in-law, Melba Smart; grandchildren, Ryan and Victoria Smart; Stephen and Angela Smart; Shawn and Margarita Smart; Kyle Smart; Maigan and T.J. Price; Scott Webb; Garret Webb; John and Brandy Carswell; Erica England Carswell and Jake; Josh and Chantee Willis; Amanda Willis and Michael; Belinda Torres; Mandy and Joaquin Guerrero; Meliton Torres; Wanda (Shellie) Torres; Todd and Kerri Ellis; Lance Thomas; Lindsay and Cole Hudson; John Thomas Perry; Justin Perry; Mattie Perry; Joseph Perry; Jacob Vincent; Rebekah Vincent; Rachel Vincent; Ryan and Annie Cantu; Melissa and Kasey Smith; 27 great-grandchildren; 14 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Freestone County Deputies Clayton Aldrich, Jeremy Shipley, John Aultman, Robert Elom, Richard McGowan and Cory House. Honorary bearers will be John Carswell and the Freestone County Sheriff's Department.

Interment: Lake Chapel Cemetery, Fairfield, Texas
