James Polk Morrison, 81, of Jacksonville, died at 5:80 a.m. Tuesday in the Sunset care center following an exteneded illness. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Murphy officiating. Burial is planned in the New Emmaus Cemetery.
Mr. Morrison was born February 23 1889 in arkansas. He was retired and a member of the New salem Baptist church.
Survivors include one son, Virgil Morrison of Port Neches; four daughters Mrs. Gladys Crum and Mrs. Lorie Chamberlain of Jacksonville, Mrs. Frankie Smith of wichita Falls and Mrs. Bonnie Deaton of Tyler; 12 grandchildren and 21 Great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
