Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Santa Maria Cemetery for Everett H. Byrd, 86, of Orcutt who died Sunday in a local hospital of natural causes. Rev. Cecil White of the Clark Avenue Southern Baptist Church will officiate.
Mr. Byrd was born in Cleburne, Texas and had been a Santa Maria resident since 1942. He worked as a pipefitter and plumber for Union Local 114 for more than 20 years, retiring in 1967. He was a member of the Clark Avenue southern Baptist Church and enjoyed working on small engines and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Geneva Byrd, Orcutt; daughter, Faye Berry, Lompoc; sons and daughter-in-law, Elwin and Sandra Byrd, Orcutt and Bill and Gloria Byrd, Santa Maria; sisters, Delma Hogue, Levelland, Texas and Catherine Brumley, Placerville; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
