A daughter of Carson ad Margaret (McCormick) Sullins, old settlers here, she grew to womanhood in the city and attended Purdue university. On June 25, 1S84, she married Mr. Royse who was one of the proprietors of the Lafayette Notion company with headquarters on Fourth street near South. They lived for many years in West Lafayette, Mr. Royse dying about 30 years ago.
Mrs. Royse is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Henry Shirk, of Peru, formerly Miss Helen Royse of West Lafayette, and two granddaughters, Mrs. James M. Fowler, III, of this city, and Miss Alice Shirk, of Peru. The body is to be brought to Lafayette but funeral arrangements have not been completed.
