"Lewis Bernal Connelly, 93, formerly of Ludlow, died Thursday, Dec 13, 1984, at Central Park Village Care Center, Orlando, Fla. He was born Aug 24, 1891, at East Hickory, a son of the late James and Mary Keister Connelly. On Feb 18, 1928, he married Dorothy Cunniff of Clarion, who survives. He lived in Ludlow most of his life, moving to Orlando several years ago. He was associated with his father in the J G Curtis Leather Co in Ludlow. He graduated from Warren High School in 1911, Northwestern University in 1915. He served in World War I. He served for several years on the board of directors of Kane Community Hospital, was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons in Kane, Scotish Rite, the Williamsport Consistory, Zem Zem Shrine, McKean Elks Lodge 329, was past commander of James Huber Post 489 of the American Legion in Ludlow, past district commander of the American Legion, a member of the Warren County Historical Society, and was past president of Kane Rotary Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James Connelly of Rochester, and by four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Nord, on (Dec)24, 1982. A funeral will be held at 2pm Wednesday at Cummings Funeral Home in Kane with the Rev Robert Olson of Ludlow, retired Lutheran pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow. No visitation will be observed."
