Frank Linwood Pontious, Jr, 89, of OKC, was called to meet his Lord and Savior on May 29, 2011. Frank was born on Nov. 9, 1921, to Frank and Ina Pontious.

He served in the United States Air Force during WWII in the 32nd Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, 3rd Air Force, later deployed in the 5th Photo Group, 15th Air Force, in southern Italy. Frank enjoyed flying airplanes with all his friends and was a flight instructor for several years in the Oklahoma City area. Frank retired from Norick Brothers Office Supplies in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen Pontious; and brother Harlan Pontious.

Frank leaves his wife Frankie; daughter Vickie Sharp; nephew Jack Pontious; step-daughters Linda Lavender and Beverly Whitener; grandson Matt Jeffrey; step-grandchildren Kristin Geddes, Rachel Wilson, Amy Lawrence, Curtis Whitener, Chad Lavender, and Leesa Lavender; 2 great-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren; and other family members.

Visitation will be at Hahn-Cook, Tues., from 4 to 9 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wed., June 1, at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd.
