He married Donna L. DeVries on March 12, 1966, in Montrose, and she survives.

Jerry worked as a salesman and a payroll agent prior to his retirement. Jerry loved his family. He was always interested in world events and kept in tune. Jerry played the guitar and enjoyed singing. He loved country music. He enjoyed reading and could often be found mowing the lawn or gardening.

Jerry loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and his special pets, Tiva the cat, and dogs, Tonio, Opal and Rocky. His best part of the day was when he would sit with his wife, Donna, in their gazebo and visit. Jerry will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law, Annie as he would love to call her and say, "You need to talk to your daughter, she is not getting me any dessert and you talk to her."
