Lynn Rogers, 71, of Streetman, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 in Dallas, Texas. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Russell Cemetery near Jewett with Rev. Ray Payne officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.
Lynn was born November 25, 1939 in Normangee to parents Mack Edwin and Liddie Pyle Rogers. He had been a resident of Streetman since July of 2008 moving from Marquez. He married Sue Durant on December 24, 1970 in Logansport, Louisiana. He was retired from Nucor Steel but was also known in the area for his skills as a home builder. Lynn was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors, going to the sale barn and staying busy.
What Lynn loved most was his family, his kids, grandkids and great-granddaughter. He will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents Lynn was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Rogers.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sue; four children, Deborah Yvonne Freeman of Jewett; D. L. (Buddy) Rogers and wife Cristy of Robbins; Angela Faye Ross and husband Robert of Mexia; Jeffrey Dwain Rogers and wife Mia of Rota, Spain; grandchildren, Shawn Williams; Tamatha DiNoto; Lauren Cannon; Alexandra Cannon; Ellyn Cannon; Olivia Cannon; Jed Ross; Rebecca Rogers; Connor Rogers and Amanda Rogers; one great-grandchild, Sable DiNoto.
