Funeral services for Hilda Hawkins Bradley, 83, of Newellton, LA will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday, July, 23, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Newellton, LA. Officiating will be Dr. James Hill and Rev. Fulton McGraw. Interment will be at Legion Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 2:00PM preceding the service at the church.

Mrs. Bradley was born April 12, 1923 in Newellton, LA and passed away July 21, 2006 at The Olive Branch Nurse Care Facility in Tallulah, LA.

Mrs. Bradley was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Bethel Louis Bradley; and by a granddaughter, Mary Shannon Campbell.

Mrs. Bradley retired from Tensas State Bank in Newellton as a Vice President after 40 years of service. She was the first female to become a bank officer in Louisiana. She loved banking and people and formed a personal relationship with her clients of Tensas Parish. Mrs. Bradley was a former member and officer of the National Association Bank Women. Mrs. Bradley was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Newellton for 69 years. She served as the church clerk and as the 2 and 3 year old Sunday school teacher for many years.

Survivors include two sons, B. L. "Buz" Bradley and wife Martha of Ruston, Timothy E. Bradley and wife Kelley of Natchez, MS; two daughters, Tomi Campbell and husband Charles of Newellton, Mary Boyer and husband Rico of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, Penny Bradley Harrell and Leslie Bradley of Prairieville, LA; Brad, Blake, Blair, and Bonnie Campbell of Newellton; Wesley and Scott Bradley of Ruston; and Emery and Hawkins Boyer of Monroe; one great grandchild, Claburn Harrell; one brother, Ed Hawkins of Newellton; one sister, Mary Nell McDonald of Newellton.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family would like to thank the many people of Tensas Parish, the entire staff of The Olive Branch-Tallulah, and Ms. Annie B. Williams for their friendship and devoted care for Ms. Hilda.
