Civil War Union soldier. He mustered in as a Private at Philadelphia on December 22, 1862 in Battery H of the 2nd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery for a 3-year term. He gave his age at enrollment as 23 and his residence as Philadelphia. He was discharged by General Order, May 13, 1865.

According to his Philadelphia Death Certificate, he died in that city on April 23, 1886 at the age of 37. His occupation was laborer.
