Ruth Domer Lehman, 93, of 215 S Elkhart St, Wakarusa, died Tuesday, Aug 18 at 7:15 am at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa where she resided for six weeks. She was in failing health for the past 2 1/2 months.
Mrs Lehman was born in Wakarusa Sept 1, 1893 to Adam and Fiana (Greenawalt) Domer.
She married Harrison Lehman Aug 7, 1913 in Mishawaka. He died April 15, 1974.
Ruth is survived by 3 daughters, Miss Valeen at home, Mrs Alice Holdeman, Mrs Gene (Marie Kelly) Houck all of Wakarusa; 2 sons, T W Bill of South Bend and Lyell of Fountain Hills, Ariz; 3 step-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-great-grandchildren, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by 4 sisters, Mary Copenhaver, Cornelia Ehret, Pearl Wilcox, Floy Schalliol and 2 brothers.
Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Wakarusa United Methodist Church, member of the church Women’s Society and the Wakarusa Civic Club.
Friends may call at the Lienhart Funeral Home in Wakarusa Thursday from 2 pm to 9 pm. A family prayer service will be held at 9:30 am Friday at the funeral home and services will be held at the Wakarusa United Methodist Church at 10 am with the Rev Bob Priest officiating. Burial will be made in Olive West Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wakarusa United Methodist Church.
