EUGENE LEE ALBERTSON DEAD
Had Been in Poor Health a Year—Was Buried Tuesday.
Eugene Lee Albertson of seven miles southwest of Edina died at about 7 o'clock Friday evening in a Kirksville hospital, where he had been taken but about six hours previous. Death resulted from complications arising from an operation about a year ago, since which time he had not been well. He was 54 years old.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Mt. Carmel by the Rev. Vada Davis of Novelty. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel cemetery with Maonic rites by the Masonic Lodge of Novelty, of which Mr. Albertson was a member.
He is survived by two sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Katie U. Magruder, Milford, Mo., Mrs. Maude Grace Harper, Alexandria, S. Dak., George Gilbert and Henry Edgar Albertson of Edina and Florus Lee Albertson of Sylvia, Kan., and by seven nieces and nephews.
Eugene Lee Albertson, a son of B. H. and Clara Albertson, was born in St. Louis Feb. 1, 1875. He came to Knox County with his parents when a year old, settling on the farm seven miles southwest of Edina, where the remainder of his life was spent as a farmer and livestock raiser. He was educated in the public schools of Knox County and at Oaklawn College at Novelty.
