LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Ruth H. Woodruff of Lake Wales died of heart failure Thursday (June 16, 2005) at Lake Wales Medical Center. She was 101.

Born Oct. 30, 1903, in Penn Township, Pa., she moved to Lake Wales in 1952. She was an accountant.

She served on the City Beautification Committee. She was a worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and life member of the Lake Wales Music Club. She was president of the Lake Wales Garden Club. She was treasurer of the United Methodist Women and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales.

Mrs. Woodruff was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold H. Turner, William H. Greene and Eben Woodruff. She is survived by her daughter, Jean T. Clegg, Lake Wales; son, John W. Turner, Orangeburg, N.Y.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Lake Wales. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
