Clark Everett Crockett, 78, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center.

He was born August 22, 1932, in Ogden, Utah to David J. and Lucile Clark Crockett. He was raised and educated in Weber County schools.

Clark left school his senior year to join the U.S. Army where he was assigned to Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Canada, France and Germany. After 21 years of service he retired and returned to school. He graduated from high school and college with a Bachelors degree from Weber State College. In 1970, he settled his family in Roy.

On September 17, 1957, Clark married Katsuyo "Kay" Nakamura in Tokyo, Japan. Together they raised two sons, Neal Crockett and Keith Crockett.

He worked for Hill Air Force Base retiring August 30, 1997. Several years before his retirement, he began gardening as a hobby. His small garden plot on base grew into a rather large garden. Clark and Kay were there every day during the growing season. They provided their friends and neighbors with a variety of vegetables during the summer… that will surely be missed.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Clark is survived by his wife, Kay; a son, Keith, San Diego, CA; a brother, Richard (Gloria) Ballard, North Ogden; three sisters, Sharon (Tom) Cunningham, Washington Terrace; Mary Ann (Terry) Ripplinger, Safford, AZ; Barbara (Jerry) Forrest, Roy; and a sister-in-law, Ronda Ballard, Hennefer, UT.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Neal Crockett, and a brother, Kent Ballard.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Kevin Gardner and his staff, the nurses and all involved in the critical care unit at Davis Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.

Graveside services will be held Monday, May 23rd at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where Military Honors will be accorded.
