Mrs. Hallie Rogers Yonkers, 90, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Bladen County/Cape Fear Hospital in Elizabethtown, NC after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1 at Richardson Funeral Home, burial will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends just prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Yonkers was born in Marion, a daughter of the late William Eddie Rogers and Sallie Lester Meares Rogers. She is also predeceased by her first husband, Frank Barrett and her second husband, Fred Yonkers; son, Johnny Williams; daughter, Ann Williams; brothers, Stokes Rogers, T.J. Rogers, Chester Rogers, Monroe Rogers, Yates Rogers and Paul Rogers; sisters, Amparo Absher, Christine Tillotson, Millwee Murrow, and Hazel Gibson.

Mrs. Yonkers was a member of Quinby United Methodist Church, and former member of Spring Branch United Methodist Church. She is also a veteran of the US Army and member of American Legion Post 162 in Columbia, SC. Mrs. Yonkers was a 1944 graduate of Mullins Training School and worked as an R.N. for over 50 years.

Surviving are her brother Cecil Rogers of Marion; sister, Sarah Baker of Elizabethtown, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
