Richard G. Duffy, 74, of Solvay, passed away Tuesday at Community General Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked at Allied Chemical for several years followed by several years at Centro before retiring. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernadine in 2001.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Duffy, of Solvay; two sons, Richard A. Duffy, of Syracuse and Bernard "Mike" Duffy, of Camillus; a fosterchild, Tammy Desena, of Weedsport; a sister, Pat Mersfelder, of Syracuse; two brothers, Erwin Duffy, of Liverpool and Raymond Duffy, of CA; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave., Solvay.
