Samuel Weygandt was born February 18th, 1807 in Washington, Pennsylvania. On April 17th, 1828 in Stark County, Ohio, he married Rebecca Wilson who was born December 22nd, 1811 in Pennsylvania to parents William Wilson (b. 1785) and Catherine Wilson (b. 1794). They moved with his parent's family in the summer of 1815 to Stark County, Ohio. Samuel was a blacksmith, contractor, and farmer.

He later moved from this home to Timberville, Ohio in 1839. Samuel was a contractor on the construction of the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Ry. and afterwards became a minister of the Disciple Church.

Rebecca died December 20th, 1884 at age 72 in Wisconsin and is buried at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Soldiers Grove, Crawford County, Wisconsin. Samuel died December 14th, 1883 at age 76 in Crawford, Wisconsin at an unknown burial site.

Descendants are living at Boscobcl, Wisconsin. Several took part in the war for the Union.

It is not known yet where Samuel was buried but it is believed to be in Soldiers Grove, WI. or near there.
