Edward Palmer was christened at the First Congregational Church in Rowley, Massachusetts on 19 October 1766, son of Samuel Palmer. He moved with his family to Maine about 1769.
Edward Palmer and Hannah Bailey were married at Newcastle, Maine on 4 February 1790.
Edward was Deputy Sheriff of Lincoln County from 1813-1819.
On 14 August 1833, two weeks before his death, Edward Palmer conveyed his homestead to his son, Hiram, "...in consideration of my love and affection to my son Hiram Palmer of said Whitefield, yeoman, and for further consideration of a bond for support of me and my wife Hannah....land partly in Whitefield and partly in Pittston, except the one-third part of a cider mill building built by Hiram and my son Samuel..."
