DEVINE, LENA FRANCES ADAMS

A retired homemaker and resident of Houston, she departed to join our Lord at 3:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at Triumph Hospital North. She was 78 and was born on June 7, 1924, in Longview, Texas, to Floyd Seaborn and Pauline Marie Deutsch Adams. Visitation will be at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2002. Religious service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, in the main chapel at Forest Park Lawndale, with Brother James Morris officiating. Interment in Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tommie Wayne "Tom" and Sharon Day Devine of Pasadena, Texas; three granddaughters and spouses, Bonnie D. and Dr. Klaus Stark of San Diego, Calif., Pamela D. and Chris Muscarello of Pasadena, and Susannah Devine of Seabrook, Texas; a grandson, U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class William Stephen "Wil" Devine , Virginia Beach, Va.; two stepgrandsons and wives, Robert and Kathy Thomas of Cedar Park, Texas, and Christopher Marlin and Cynthia "Cindy" McLendon Thomas of Houston; a great-granddaughter, Emily Autumn Muscarello; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Robert Harold Thomas Jr., Ashley Nicole Thomas and Aaron Nicholas Thomas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin Seaborn and Elizabeth Allen Adams of Friendswood, Texas, James Hubbard "Chubby" and Melba Adams of Longview; a sister, Floydie Mae "Tinker" Adams Frost of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William J. Devine ; parents, a brother, Carl Harding Adams; and two sisters, Dean Estelle Adams Moore and Myrtle Marie Adams Woods. Pallbearers will be her grandson, granddaughters and stepgrandsons who loved her so very much. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons-in-law and stepgranddaughters-in-law. Mrs. Devine was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church, life member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW and 40-year member of Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles, Terre Haute, Ind. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Colleen Ashley and to the doctors, nurses and staff of Memorial Hermann Hospital Northwest Houston and Triumph Hospital North Houston, and a very special thanks to James Easter, R.N., and Maria Calzada, P.A. at Triumph, and to an extra special doctor, Dr. Vinod K. Bhuchar, M.D. Friends may make memorial donations to Faith Memorial Baptist Church Bus Fund, 623 Kress St., Houston, TX 77020.
