OGDEN - Mrs. Maggie McCloy Purrington, 65, 2638 Eccles Ave., former school teacher and widow of John Robb Purrington, died Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in an Ogden hospital following a nine month illness.

She was born in Riverdale, April 5, 1881, a daughter of Robert and Sara[h] Ann Flinder[s] McCloy, later moving with her family to Hooper where she was educated. On Oct. 21, 1903 she was married to Mr. Purrington in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He died in Ogden, Oct. 12, 1938.

Mrs. Purrington was an active member of the Church, serving in Sunday School, Relief Society and genealogical work. She was a member of the Ogden Twelfth Ward, Mt. Ogden Stake. Prior to her marriage she taught school in Weber and Davis County schools.

Surviving are a son and a daughter, four grandchildren, and a brother and two sisters.
