Ruth Mitchell Spear was the first wife of Thomas Burton Spear. They had 4 children. Patsy, Buddy, Alice and Nancy. Ruth's young life (34) was taken from her in a car-train wreck in Esto, Florida on her way to see her Mother in Law who was very ill in the hospital at the time. The car she was riding in ran into a train on an unguarded crossing in this small town. She died after she was taken to Geneva, Ala. to the small hospital there.
