Mr. John Durward "Redeye" Denmark, age 74 of the Johnson's Corner Community, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 in the Community Hospice House of Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County, living in Jacksonville, Florida for several years, and returned to Toombs County in 1975. He retired as a welder after thirty-one years from Local 26 in Savannah, and was an avid outdoorsman, and a devoted father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Harris Denmark; and seven siblings, Vera, Erma, Robert, J.E., Lillian, Sara, and Payne.

Mr. Denmark is survived by three children, Freida Collins and husband Gaston Levi Collins of Vidalia, Emmett Denmark and wife Belinda of the Blue Ridge Community, and Dana Denmark of Johnson's Corner; two sisters, Edna Willis of Lyons, and Flora Tina Smith of Johnson's Corner; one brother, Eugene Denmark and wife Joyce of Middleburg, Florida; six grandchildren, Crystal, Ronald, Katie, Jason, Amy, and Dylan; five great-grandchildren, Bailey, Alana, Jake, Hannah, and Emma, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1st at 2:00pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Smith and Reverend Jarrell Lillard officiating. Interment will follow in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
