Oliver Wiswell was stabbed in an altercation of Fourth of July at the depot in Sherwood where he was waiting to board a train for home. After a few days, he was taken to a hospital in Fort Wayne, where he died of blood poisoning. The person who stabbed was found not guilty after claiming self defense at his trial in Defiance County.
