Obituary:
Ralph David Bean, 74, of Lemhi, died July 2, 2005, of an accident at his Lemhi ranch. He and his twin sister, Ruth, were born January 20, 1931, in Wilford, Idaho, to Lloyd James Bean and Millie Birch Bean. He attended school in St. Anthony, Ucon, and graduated from Shelley High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. While on leave he married Lois Ann Curtis in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 4, 1952. After an honorable discharge they lived and farmed in Shelley and Monteview. In 1976 they purchased the Basin Creek Ranch in Lemhi, Idaho, and since 1990 they have resided there full time. He found much joy and satisfaction in the work associated with his ranch.
He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day, and served as Bishop of Monteview Ward. He was involved in community affairs, including service on the West Jefferson School board, but would most like to be remembered as a good friend and neighbor.
He loved his family. His survivors include his wife, Lois Bean of Lemhi; and his children: Jan (Keith) Walker of St. Anthony, Terri (Cordell) Finlinson of Layton, Utah, Chyrell (Mike) Jackson of Riverton, Utah, David (Jeanine) Bean of Turlock, California, Barbara (Brett) Wright of Idaho Falls, Laird (Diane) Bean of Blackfoot, and Von (Debra) Bean of Lemhi; 27 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Paul (Vicki) Bean of Kooskia, Wanda (Clyde) Miller of Shelley, Arlene (Keith) Meservy of Provo, Utah, Karma (Bill) Cox of Idaho Falls, Ruth (George) Hansen of Monteview, Karen (Paul) Searle of Shelley, and Linda (F.A.) Butler of Deer Park, Washington.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, July 7, in the Leadore LDS Ward. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and for one hour before services at the church. Interment will be in Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls.
