Christie W. Bramlett, 93, of Hiawatha, died early Friday morning, May 27, 2011, at the Apostolic Christian Home, Sabetha. She was born September 12, 1917, in Peterborough, New Hampshire, one of seven children of Reverend Clarence Sr. and Christie Rolfe Broadfoot and came to Kansas with her family as an infant where her father was a minister and served a number of Kansas communities. She later graduated from Powhattan High School with the class of 1935 prior to taking nurses training. Mrs. Bramlett was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hiawatha; and Helena Chapter #210, Order of Eastern Star of Topeka. She married Nathan Bramlett, Sr. September 19, 1941 in Rossville. They made their home in Topeka for many years until they retired to Hiawatha in the early 1980's. He died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Clarence and Kenneth; sisters: Mary and Ethel. Survivors include two daughters: Christie (Jim) Mueller of Hiawatha, Beverly Salmond of Fair Oaks, CA; two sons: Norman (Marybeth) Bramlett of Grantville, Nathan (Pam) Bramlett, Jr., of Danielson, CT; two sisters: Catherine David Raper of Topeka, Helen Gilfillan of Reserve; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren A celebration of Christie's life is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at First United Methodist Church, Hiawatha. Reverend Randy Quinn will officiate. Graveside services are planned at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Westlawn Memorial Gardens of Topeka.
