Bob attended Quincy schools, served in the Navy from 7-1943/7-1947. He was married and the father of five children. He served in the Illinois National Guard from 1949/1952 when he retired. He was a machinis and electrician for 36 1/2 years until he retired in 1987. A member of the Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, Moose Lodge, South Side Boat Club and was a lifetime member of the North Side Boat Club. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his camp on the Mississippi River.
