YEAGERTOWN - Ellsworth Junior Ramsey, 75, of 305 Pinewood Road, Yeagertown, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2000, at his residence. Born Sept. 16, 1924, in Mifflintown, he was a son of the late Ellsworth and Bessie May (Whidler) Ramsey. His wife, Emma M. (Walters) Harris Ramsey, whom he married Jan. 1 1985, survives. Also surviving are: children, Patsy Hoar, McVeytown, Sandra Booher, Ruth Taylor, and Wanda Peffer, all of Lewistown; stepchildren, Thomas Harris and Norma Shearer, both of Lewistown, Pamela Moyer, Reedsville, Kathy Fisher, Milroy, Mabel Fairbanks, Burnham, Joseph B. Davis Jr., Glenwood, Nancy Wilt, McClure, Steve Davis and Leroy Davis, both of Delaware; brothers and sisters, Bertha Wert, Port Royal, Mary Jane Smith, Janet Swartz, Donald Ramsey, and Gary Ramsey, all of Mifflintown; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 26 step-grandchildren and 34 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond R. Ramsey and a stepdaughter, Betty Farleman. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Standard Steel, Burnham with 31 years of service. He had been a member of the Arch Rock Methodist Church and was a member of the Yeagertown Fire Company, the Milroy American Legion and the Lewistown VFW. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with Maj. Herbert B. Hamilton and the Rev. Thomas B. Morningstar officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: the American Cancer Society, Mifflin-Juniata Unit, 112 N. Wayne St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
