MONUMENT IN HOLLYWOOD, RICHMOND
FLAT PEDESTAL WITH PLATE
In memory of GEORGE PICKETT and MARGARET SANDERSON, his wife, whose remains were disinterred from the family cemetery on the north line of Marshall Street between 22nd and 23rd streets, this city, on 16 FEBRUARY 1892 and reinterred at this spot with full Episcopal service on 13 April 1893, Rev. Landon Mason officiated. Their children and their descendants were reinterred at the same time, viz:
GEORGE (E. or B.) PICKETT and his two infant children
MARY A. and GEN'L WILLIAM LAMBERT, her husband, and their 2 infant children
MRS. CAROLINE R. CURRIE
ELIZABETH H. and CHARLES J. McMURDO, her husband and their children, viz:
CATHERINE A., BOLLING, HELEN P., and RAVENSCROFT.

"In February 1892, Hooper transferred to Hollywood the remains buried in the old Adams-Carrington burying ground and the adjoining PICKETT CEMETERY AT TWENTY-THIRD AND MARSHALL STREETS. Members of Richmond's earliest families were represented there. Colonel Richard Adams, who had offered the state some of his property on Church Hill for the site of the Capitol; William Marshall, the brother of Chief Justice John Marshall; General William Lambert, a longtime mayor of Richmond; and George Pickett, the grandfather of Confederate generals Henry Heth and George E. Pickett..."
