Charles Frederick Oscar Bieber was born in 1834 in the Saxon Weimar region of Germany to William & Lina Bieber. He was married to Margaretha Rosenberger in Malden, Massachusetts in Feb 1860. They had a son William Frederick Bieber that was born in December 1860 in Malden, Mass. Oscar enlisted in the Army at the start of the Civil War. He was captured at the Battle of Batchelders Creek, NC on Feb 1, 1864. He was confined in Camp Sumter/Andersonville Confederate prison where he died on Sept. 15, 1864.
