Funeral services for Seminole resident Elsie Fern Welch are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Temple of Praise with Rev. Harold Turner officiating.
Interment is to follow services at Little Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 4 – 8 p.m. on Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home.
Welch, 86, died Nov. 5, 2004 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. She was born in Eddy to Homer Kay Sr. and Ada May (O'Dell) Kay on Jan. 25, 1918.
She married Hubert Welch Aug. 11, 1934 in Oklahoma City and has lived in Seminole since 1952. Welch was a Protestant and a member of the Temple of Praise Church.
Her husband and daughter, Rebecca Welch Dunn, preceded her in death.
She is survived by six sons, Butch Welch of Seminole, Bud Welch of Dustin, Richard Welch of Alpharetta, Ga., Don Welch of Dewey, Ariz., Michael Welch of Tuttle, and Dean Welch of Seminole; two daughters, Carol Christensen of Burnsville, Minn. and Melodie Fulmer of Edmond.
In addition, three brothers, Billy Kay, Millard Kay and Homer Kay Jr.; 24 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren also survivor her.
The pallbearers for the services will be her grandsons and the honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
