Martha Prueter, 91, former Town of Meeme resident, died Thuesday afternoon at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, where she lived for the past 3 1/2 years.
The former Martha Winkel was born June 23, 1890 in the Town of Meeme, a daughter of Herman and Caroline (Redetzke) Winkel.
She attended district school in the Town of Meeme and married Louis Prueter there Feb 16, 1911.
The couple farmed in the Town of Meeme for their entire married life.
Mr Prueter died in 1949.
Mrs Prueter was a member of St. Johns UCC in the Town of Herman and the ladies aid, of Schleswig Cemetery Association.
Surviors are a son Edward, of Kiel: one grandson; two great grandchildren; one sister Mrs Adam Sander of Cleveland; and one brother Theodore Winkel of Kiel.
She is preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services were ar Meiselwitz Funeral Home with Rev Dean Roy Miller, pastor of St Johns UCC, will officating.
Burial in Schleswig Cemetery, in Rockville.
