Edna Mae Albee, 80, passed away at the Garden County Hospital Wednesday, September 21, 2005.

She was born January 30, 1925 in Alliance, Nebraska to Jess O and Blanche (Ranck) Campbell and grew up on their ranch north of Oshkosh. She taught country school and worked at the courthouse in Oshkosh and in Washington D.C. during world war II. She married Burrell Albee in 1945 and while he finished his pre-med in Lincoln, she worked at the State Capitol. They returned to Oshkosh in 1952 where Dr. A.B. Albee was in General Practice until he retired in 1990. For several years she owned and operated the Fashion Post, a woman's apparel store, then operated the general store at Albee's Subdivision in the late 60's. Upon retirement they lived at Lake McConaughy during the summer and spent the winters in Mesa, Arizona. Eddie enjoyed traveling, KENO, golf, family and friends.

Edna Mae "Eddie" was a member of the United Methodist Church of Oshkosh, the VFW Auxiliary, the Daughters of the Nile and the American Medical Association Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Florence Rounsborg and brothers, Edwin and Donald.

Edna Mae is survived by her husband, Dr. A.B. Albee, three sons, Burrell (Lisa) Albee of Grand Island, Russell (Renee Lucero) Albee of Lake McConaughy and Dan (Dan Keefe) Albee of St. Paul, Minnesota, five grandchildren: Erik Petau, Luke and Adriane Albee, Dr. Laura (Jeff) Millemon (Albee) and Adam (Beckie) Albee, (Barbara Long), one brother-in-law, Don Rounsborg of North Platte, Nebraska and one sister-in-law Elaine Campbell of Oshkosh, Nebraska, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Oshkosh/Lewellen Rescue Squad, account is at the Oshkosh Nebraska State Bank and/or Garden County Hospital/Health Services in Oshkosh.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jack Robinson, Alan Wilkinson, Mike Campbell, Leonard (Marv) Kaufman, Dr.Harold Rounsborg, Dr.Gerald Rounsborg and Mike Polk.

Services were held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the United Methodist Church with burial at the Oshkosh Cemetery with Pastor Ray Weinerman officiating.

Dr. A.B. Albee, and sons would like to thank the Lewellen Rescue Squad for their prompt response on September 20th and the excellent care given to Edna Mae Albee during her transport to Garden County Hospital. In addition, we want to express our gratitude to Dr. Sheel and all of the Hospital Staff for the excellent care of Eddie. You have our heartfelt appreciation. Thank you for your dedication to the community.
