Betty L. Ping, 80, of O'Fallon, IL, born January 10, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, died Thursday, May 26, 2011. Betty served on the Board of Directors for the St. Louis Downtown YMCA, was a volunteer at Scott Air Force Base Hospital, the O'Fallon Food Pantry, and the O'Fallon Library. She was also an active member for over 50 years at the First United Methodist Church. Betty retired from Edison Brothers Shoe Manufacturing as the office manager.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan Henry and Hattie, nee Elson, Ping, a sister, Ann Touchette and a brother, Ivan Ping. Betty is survived by 2 brothers; Richard (Margie) Ping of Swansea, IL, Paul (Marilyn) Ping of Coulterville, IL, a sister, Elsie (Murray) Aron of Fresno, CA, a sister-in-law, Nancy Ping of Lebanon, IL, brother-in-law, Dale Touchette of Northfield, Minnesota, nieces and nephews.

Memorials in honor of Betty may be made to First United Methodist Church or donor's choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.schildknechtfh.com.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 4-8 pm at Schildknecht Funeral Home, O'Fallon, IL and Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 9-11 am at First United Methodist Church, 504 E. Hwy 50, O'Fallon, IL.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Dickenson officiating.

Burial will be at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, IL. Arrangements entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home and Cremation Services, O'Fallon, IL
