Obit: Gladys Caroline Andreas, 88, of Montevideo died April 7 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Watson with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Big Bend Township, Chippewa County, to Ole and Laura (Laumb) Jerve. She attended rural schools in District #11 in Big Bend Township.
She married Elmo Andreas on July 30, 1939. They lived north of Watson for three years and in Swift County for three years. They moved west of Watson and then to her home farm in 1948. In 1976, they moved to Montevideo, where she had been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past five years.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its women's groups and helped raise a number of foster children.
She is survived by her husband; daughters Judy (and Arthur) Anderson of Minneapolis, Joyce (and Silvian) Sundrum of Golden Valley, Bonalyn (and Gordon) Nebelung of Fridley; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; foster daughter Jane Campbell of Minneapolis and her three children; sister Edna Hull of Montevideo; brothers Marvin Jerve of Montevideo, Sander Jerve of Glencoe, Gordon Jerve of Battle Lake and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.
