Cecil Blakemore, 74, died Friday morning at Liberty House Nursing Home in Harrisonburg, where he had lived since August 1979. He had been seriously ill with cancer for two years.
Mr. Blakemore was born August 21, 1907, in Rockingham County and was the son of the late W. G. and Maude Smith Blakemore.
Surviving are a son, C. E. Blakemore of Harrisonburg, and a sister, Louise Fadeley of Harrisonburg.
A memorial service will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty House Nursing Home, 94 South Ave. by the Rev. Louis Carson. The body is at the Kyger and Trobaugh Funeral Home and will be cremated. Burial will be in Fair View Church of the Brethren cemetery near New Market.
